Embracing the Wellness Journey: A Testament to Strength and Resilience

Oh, morning star
You welcome the day
I follow you to my redemption
It's dawn. Dew glistens on the grasses.
I have my gloves, my hair slicked back
Now I'm the beast of burden.
The circuit class awaits
With all the lifting it entails
My muscles scream
I feel the sweat
I feel my muscles gain strength
I am the definition of lean mass
The repetitions cut and tone
Even my teeth are sweating.
I huff, I puff
The dumbells cry
The upper body class is done
I go home to enjoy my breakfast
But that's not all
The wellness journey goes on
Another day, another class
Another pain due to gain
The weights, like loaves of hay
The stations mark the battlefield
The mats are our trenches

What have I done to deserve this curse?
But no, you say, this is a blessing
It is a blessing to get up and move
To power through the pain
Right now, I am the chain's weakest link
But I will huff and puff and lift
I will not stop, I will get stronger
Each time, counting my blessings
Motivators will push me to my limits

And I will do and clench my teeth
Drained but alive
I will head home to enjoy my breakfast.
